What is Financial Needs Analysis (FNA)?
Our Financial Needs Analysis is an objective assessment of your risk profile based on your willingness and capability to accept investment risk as well as your return objective and the associated level of risk required to achieve the return. The indicated risk profile will form the basis for selection of the appropriate investment products for you but you can choose a more prudent risk profile class.

How to conduct Financial Needs Analysis on DBS digibank HK and DBS iBanking?
On DBS digibank HK, please visit the Investment Account Management (IAM) page, then update FNA by tapping <Access Now> or <Update> on <Finance Need Analysis>.
on DBS iBanking, please navigate to <Banking> on the top menu bar, then click on <Invest> and select <Conduct Financial Need Analysis>.
Do I need to update my FNA?
Yes, your FNA will be valid for two years. Please update your FNA before it expires or when there is any change to your financial situation.
How long does it take to complete an FNA?
The entire process to complete an FNA normally takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Can I retrieve my FNA record after I have submitted the FNA online?
Yes. You can review your latest FNA record on DBS iBanking upon submission. You can click on <Banking>, then tab on <Invest>, select <Conduct Finance Needs Analysis>, then scroll down to find your FNA record.

What circumstances will an order placed via DBS iBanking be rejected?
Your order could be rejected under any of the following circumstances (for illustration only and not exhaustive).
What is a Market Order (MO)?
A MO helps customers buy or sell stocks at the prevailing market price immediately without setting a limit price. This order will be placed at the prevailing market price by default.
What is a Stop Loss Order (SLO)?
A SLO helps minimize the loss in a volatile market. Basically it is a sell order with a pre-set selling price range.
What is an At-auction Limit Order (ALO)?
You can place an ALO during the Pre-opening Session and CAS, with a specified price. It may be matched in price and time priority at the final Indicative Equilibrium Price (IEP)* and Indicative Equilibrium Volume (IEV)**.
What is an Enhanced Limit Order (ELO)?
An ELO allows matching of up to ten price queues at a time. An ELO's ask order price can be entered at 9 spreads lower than the current bid, or the bid order price can be entered at 9 spreads higher than the current ask price. Any unfilled ELO will be stored in the system as a normal Limit Order at the input order price for queuing.

What is Currency Linked Investment?
Currency Linked Investment are short term dual-currency investments with a currency option. At maturity, you will receive your investment amount and interest in either your investment currency, or the linked currency (exchanged at the conversion rate).

How can I buy online Currency Linked Investment at DBS via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK?
If you have a Wealth Management Account (WMA), you can conduct Currency Linked Investment through DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app.

On DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK, please visit the <Invest> tab, then tapping the <Currency-linked> icon. You can place an order by selecting the investment currency, linked currency, investment tenor, and then selecting or inputting the desired conversion rate or interest rate.

What is the minimum and maximum investment amounts for Currency Linked Investment conducted via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app?
The minimum investment amount is USD 10,000 and the maximum investment amount is USD 1,000,000, or their equivalent in foreign currency.
What is the minimum and maximum investment tenors for Currency Linked Investment conducted via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app?
The investment tenor for Currency Linked Investment ranges from a minimum of 7 days to a maximum of 6 months (under regular tenor selection) or 185 days (under customised tenor selection).
Can I invest in Currency Linked Investment with a customised tenor via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app?
Yes, you can place an order with a customised tenor from a minimum of 7 days and up to 185 days.

On the Currency linked Investment input page of DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app, you can select a customised tenor by tapping  <Tenor> and selecting <Set a date range>.
What currencies are available for Currency Linked Investment conducted via DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK app?
11 currency options are available, including AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY (offshore), EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, SGD and USD.
Can I amend / cancel my currency linked investment order online?
Once you have submitted an order, you cannot amend or cancel it.
When can I trade online Currency Linked Investment?
Our Currency Linked Investment service hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 6.00 pm HKT, excluding public holidays.
How can I check my Currency Linked Investment order status?
On DBS iBanking or DBS digibank HK, please visit the <Currency-linked> icon, then tap on <My placements> and select the orders to view the placement details. You can also filter orders by date range and order status.
What is suitability assessment? (Only applicable to DBS Treasures customers with a Wealth Management Account)
Suitability assessment is a process matching the investment product with the client’s personal circumstances and risk tolerance. 

DBS conducts suitability assessments before an investment transaction, based on the customer’s risk tolerance level, investment objectives, investment period, investment experience, and asset concentration.

Should there be any mismatch in the suitability assessment (e.g. product risk rating is higher than customer’s risk tolerance level), a customer may be required to conduct the investment transaction with his/her Relationship Manager to ensure the customer clearly understands the product features and risks.

Can I use the funds receivable from Currency Linked Investment to place a new investment order after fixing but before maturity? (For DBS Private Bank* or DBS Treasures Private Client customers only)

Yes. You may place a new order using funds receivable from an expired or exercised CLI on or after the fixing date.
