** According to the Bank Services Fees (Corporate Customers) (Section 4 – Remittance), the handling fee for a USD TT via DBS IDEAL Internet Banking is HKD115 per transaction. The Correspondent Bank Charges applicable to charge type “OUR – All charges borne by remitter” for USD transfers are HKD250 per transaction, making the total TT fee HKD365. In comparison, DBS GlobeSend offers a fixed handling fee of HKD220 per USD transaction without additional charges under the same charge type “OUR”, resulting in an up to 40% price reduction with DBS GlobeSend when compared to TT.  
*** In general, the recipient will be able to receive the funds on the same day to within 2 working days of the recipient bank from the transfer date. However, this may vary depending on the destination or bank to which the payment is made, as well as market regulations including but not limited to mandatory regulatory checks and currency holidays.

What is DBS GlobeSend?

DBS GlobeSend enables you to make cross border local currency payments in 110+^ currencies to your beneficiaries with no agent fees, subject to payment limits indicated in the DBS GlobeSend Currency Guide. (Examples of domicile payment: payment in KRW to South Korea or VND to Vietnam, but not KRW to Vietnam.)

What is the difference between DBS GlobeSend Transfer and DBS Telegraphic Transfer?

•    SHA (Shared): Beneficiary bank and intermediary banks' charges are borne by beneficiary; Remitting bank's charges are borne by applicant.
•    BEN (They): All local and overseas charges are borne by the beneficiary.
•    OUR (Us): All local and overseas charges are borne by the applicant.
•    Pay in Full: Ensures the full remittance amount will be paid to the beneficiary bank. However, your beneficiary will bear the beneficiary bank's handling fees, which may be deducted from the remittance amount.

What are the channels supported for DBS GlobeSend Transfer?

DBS GlobeSend is currently available on DBS IDEAL and will progressively be made available on other digital channels including CONNECT and RAPID. Sign up for DBS IDEAL and download IDEAL mobile banking app.

What are the Foreign Exchange (FX) Rate types supported?

DBS will process the transaction and book an FX for you when DBS GlobeSend transfer is submitted to the bank. If you wish to utilise a prebooked FX contract for cross border payment, please initiate a Telegraphic Transfer.

How do I sign up for DBS GlobeSend?

Why can't I find the DBS GlobeSend option on the payment page?

There are a couple of reasons why the GlobeSend option may not be visible to you:

  1. Unsupported Currency-Location Combination
    DBS GlobeSend supports local domicile payments only. If you attempt to make a DBS GlobeSend payment in an unsupported currency, the GlobeSend option will not appear on DBS IDEAL.
  2. Paying to an Unreachable Bank
    If you attempt to pay to a bank that is not reachable by DBS GlobeSend, the DBS GlobeSend option will not appear on DBS IDEAL.
  3.  Exceeding Payment Limits
    Each currency has a predefined maximum limit. If the transaction amount exceeds this limit, the DBS GlobeSend option will not be available on DBS IDEAL. 
Who is able to create or approve DBS GlobeSend Transfer?

This service has been made available to users who have Telegraphic Transfer access via IDEAL. The authorisation policy for DBS GlobeSend will follow that of Telegraphic Transfer.
