FAQ for the Card Conversion of DBS ecPay VISA

  1. Why will DBS ecPay VISA be discontinued?
  2. As a business decision, DBS ecPay VISA will be discontinued in June 2026.


  3. What is the arrangement after DBS ecPay VISA is discontinued?
  4. If you are the cardholder of DBS ecPay VISA, you and your supplementary cardholder (if any) will receive a DBS Eminent VISA Platinum Card starting from May 2026 as your replacement card. We will further send you a letter to inform you of the account transfer date ("Transfer Date").


  5. What are the privileges of the New Card?
  6. You can enjoy upgraded privileges of your New Card. Please refer to the letter titled "Your new credit card is coming your way with exclusive privileges!" we sent to you.


  7. Which items will be retained and automatically transferred to the New Card?
  8. Credit limit, Annual fee (remain at annual fee of "VISA"), Interest rates, All other fees & charges, Statement date and Payment due date remain unchanged. Credit/ debit balance, Octopus Automatic Add-Values Services, Autopay service of the outstanding balance of your Credit Card, "DBS$ Cash Rebate Scheme", Telephone Identification Number (TIN) and Linkage with DBS savings or current account(s) will be automatically transferred/ linked to New Card.


  9. What are the items that will be changed with the New Card?
  10. Credit card number, Card expiry date and CVV, and Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be changed.


  11. What items will be terminated with the New Card?
  12. Autopay service with merchants for periodic payments from your DBS ecPay VISA. To ensure continuity of your payment arrangement, please use other DBS Credit Card to set up autopay services.


  13. What are the other arrangements of the New Card?
    1. If you have installed and/or used your DBS ecPay VISA as a mobile card within a digital wallet, your mobile card will be terminated on the Transfer Date of your DBS ecPay VISA. Please register your New Card after card activation and use it as a mobile card within a digital wallet.

    2. If you have any below setting on DBS ecPay VISA in DBS Card+ app, the setting will not be carried forward to your New Card. You need to set up for the New Card.

      1. Easypayment - registered any local bank accounts under your name to DBS Card+ to make payments to your DBS ecPay VISA.

      2. Auto Flexi-Shopping instruction

      3. Setting of "Retail Spending Limit" and "Online/ Local/ Overseas spending" in "Manage Card"

    3. If you have submitted a DBS ecPay VISA card replacement application to us, New Card will be issued automatically upon successful application after 30 April 2026.

    4. If your DBS ecPay VISA's expiry date is June 2026, New Card will be issued to you in May 2026.

    5. Upon receipt of your New Card, please follow the instructions detailed in the mailing pack to activate the credit card. After you have activated the new credit card, your old DBS ecPAY VISA will become invalid. Please cut the credit card such that the magnetic stripe and the chip are destroyed and dispose of it carefully afterwards.


  14. What are the arrangements and points to note if I decline a new DBS Credit Card?
    1. To minimise any inconvenience caused to you, if you have any outstanding balance, unposted monthly instalments of Card Interest-free Instalment Loan, DBS Credit Card Interest-free Merchant Instalment Plan, "Call-a-loan", Funds Transfer Programme, Fee Based Instalment Programme or Flexi Shopping Programme with DBS ecPay VISA as of the Termination Date, you do not need to settle the outstanding amount with a one-off payment. You may continue to settle it according to the existing repayment schedule (if applicable) and monthly card statement until all the payments are settled. Please be reminded that finance charges and related fees will still be levied for overdue payments, and the existing terms and conditions continue to apply.

    2. Your DBS iBanking and DBS Card+ HK account(s) (if any) will also be terminated on the Termination Date if you solely possess a DBS ecPay VISA without bank account or other credit cards. We will send paper statement to you if your card account has any activities after the Termination Date. The paper statement fee will be waived.

    3. The cash rebate entitled by you will be calculated up to the Termination Date and credited to your card account to set off the outstanding balance. Any unused cash rebate accumulated in your card account will be forfeited after card termination.

    4. If you have set up any Octopus Automatic Add Value Service and/or autopay services with merchants for recurring payment from your DBS ecPay VISA, such services will be terminated, and you shall make appropriate arrangements with the relevant merchants.

    5. If you have installed and/or used your DBS ecPay VISA as a mobile card within a digital wallet, your mobile card will be terminated on the Termination Date.

    6. If you have linked your DBS ecPay VISA with DBS savings or current accounts, you will no longer be able to operate these accounts with your DBS ecPay VISA through ATM services upon card termination.

    7. We shall not be liable for any loss, fees and charges incurred by you due to the update and/or failure to update the payment instruction(s) linked with DBS ecPay VISA.

    8. To protect you, before disposal of any terminated credit cards, you are advised to cut the credit cards so that the magnetic stripe and the chip are no longer intact.
