What is cyber-bullying?
Cyber-bullying is any act of harassment or intimidation, including defamation of character, invasion of privacy, or threats of violence, first committed against you online via an electronic device.
What is online identity theft?
It is the theft of one’s personal data or documents containing references to one’s (stored online or in an electronic device) by a third party without one’s consent for the purpose of obtaining goods, money or services.
How does CyberOne help me when an incident occurs?
Depending on the incident, it will provide you with access to one or more, as deemed appropriate, of the following services from Chubb's panel of providers:
- Legal consultation; and/or
- IT/Tech support; and/or
- Initial counselling session
Additionally, where appropriate and in accordance with the policy terms and conditions, you will be given access to legal advice and/or trauma counselling by Chubb's panel of providers, up to the policy limits.
You will also be reimbursed, up to the policy limits and where appropriate, for additional expenses incurred by you as a result of cyber-bullying and/or online identity theft, and any loss of income suffered by you when rectifying online identity theft.
Are the policy limits shared between cyber-bullying and online identity theft?
Yes, the policy limits are shared between cyber-bullying and online identity theft.
Are the policy limits on a per event basis?
No, the policy limits apply in aggregate. The maximum coverage provided for any benefit in a 12-month period is the limit stated in the policy schedule. Notwithstanding that there may be multiple events during the 12-month period, the maximum aggregated payment by your policy is the limit specified in your policy schedule.
How can I pay for the policy?
Can I purchase CyberOne for my family?
Yes, you can. CyberOne is offered as an individual policy or a family policy. Under a family policy, your spouse/partner, dependent children under 18 years of age and parents residing with you, will be covered.
CyberOne offer individual and family policies, the latter having higher policy limits.
Benefit limit is based on an annual basis. For an individual policy, benefit limit is applicable to the policyholder only; and for family policy, benefit limit is shared in aggregate between the policyholder, the spouse/partner, dependent children and parents of the policyholder.
Who is eligible for CyberOne?
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- Hong Kong residents; and
- 18 years old or above.
How many children can I cover under the family policy?
Will my personal details and medical/legal reports (if any) be safe?
Yes. All personal details and medical and/or legal reports obtained will be kept secure. For the purposes of assessing your claim, the legal or medical reports produced by Chubb's panel of providers will be provided to Chubb following their consultation with you.
Does CyberOne come with a free look period?
Free look period is not applicable to this policy
Will there be a cancellation charge?
This is a non-refundable policy, no refund for any cancellation of this policy.
Can I purchase CyberOne if I am not a Hong Kong resident?
Will the policy cover mass cyber attacks that affect more people besides me?
No. This is a personal cyber policy that covers you against incidents targeted at you. It does not cover any loss caused by a mass, coordinated effort by a domestic or international actor intending to affect a large number of software or hardware users or members of a class or group.
How to Make a Claim

Prior to contacting Chubb Assist to make a claim, you must report the cyber-bullying incident or online identity theft to the Hong Kong Police Force.
For additional expenses (except IT / Tech support) or loss of income claims, you can call DBS Chubb Insurance Service Hotline at (852) 3191 6618 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, excluding public holidays) or email to dbscs.hk@chubb.com to request the claim form.
Processing duration
Upon receiving your claim and all supporting documentation, assessment will begin and can be finalised within 5-7 business days.
Once your claim is accepted, you will be reimbursed via cheque or bank transfer within the next 5-7 business days.
The above applies only to additional expense (except IT / Tech support) and loss of income claims.

- This policy will be automatically renewed upon the policy expiry date of each subsequent policy year unless written cancellation notice has been given to Chubb provided that premium is paid within thirty one (31) days of Renewal Date.
- The above information are the highlights of plan’s coverage only. For the plan's details, please refer to the terms and conditions and exclusions of the policy. In the event of any discrepancy between English and Chinese version, the English version shall prevail.
- In the event of an eligible dispute (as defined in the Terms of Reference for the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre) arising between the Bank and the customer out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, the Bank will enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with the customer; however any disputes over the contractual terms of the policy should be resolved directly between Chubb and the customer.
