Activate Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS)

Once your AAVS application is approved, you will receive an activation letter by mail. You may choose to activate your service via MTR Customer Service, “Octopus” App or Octopus PC Reader.

Once your AAVS application is approved, you will receive an activation letter by mail. You may choose to activate your service via the methods below:

 

  1. Bring along the activation letter, original copy of your Personal Identification and the Octopus to any MTR Customer Service Centre within 30 days from the issue date of the letter to activate the service. After the activation of your AAVS service, MTR staff will keep the activation letter for record.
     
  2. You can follow the instruction and activate the AAVS function through the "Octopus" App with Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled Android phone as tested by Octopus, please click here for details. (Not applicable to Octopus Mobile SIM user)
     
  3. If you have an Octopus PC Reader, you can directly activate the service via the Internet, please click here for details.

 

Note:

  • To activate the AAVS function via the "Octopus" App or PC reader, your Octopus card number should be in 9-digit (eight digits plus one single digit inside the bracket).
