DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“The Bank”) would like to alert our customers and the mass public of suspicious WhatsApp instant messages sent from fraudster pretending to be staff of the Bank offering financial services. The recipient will be lured to provide personal information and may be told to transfer money to fraudster’s bank accounts. The mass public should be alerted when receiving suspicious instant messages who self-claimed to be the staff of the Bank.

Alert: Suspicious instant messages and fake business name cards

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Bank”) would like to alert our customers and the mass public of suspicious WhatsApp instant messages sent from fraudsters pretending to be staff of the Bank. The fraudsters made use of fake business name cards and referred the victims to third-party intermediaries, which are not associated with the Bank, for mortgage application.
The mass public should be alerted when receiving suspicious instant messages and fake business name cards issued from unidentified individuals who self-claimed as the Bank staff.
Please note that:
- The Bank has no connection to the fraudulent messages or fake business name cards.
- The Bank does not require the customers to make any advance payment or deposit to facilitate mortgage applications.
