Application Flow

A. Application Flow for Starting a New Application

Step 1: Click “Start a new application” and select your application type;
Step 2: Input your basic personal information to create your own profile and receive your unique reference number by SMS;
Step 3: Enter other application details (including income/property information/mortgage details/financials details) for mortgage application assessment.
Step 4: Review and confirm your application summary;
Step 5: Submit your application and instant credit bureau checking and property valuation will be processed immediately by the system.
Step 6: Your One-minute Instant Approval result will be generated, and a confirmation email and SMS will be sent to you;
Step 7: Our DBS Home Advice Specialist will contact you within 1 business day to provide a tailored mortgage package and help you submit the required documents for final approval.

Step 1: Click “Start a new application” and select your application type;

B. Application Flow for Continuing your Unfinished Application
 

(If you have dropped off your application before submitting the application, please refer to the steps below to resume your application)

Step 1: Go to the homepage and select “Continue Application” and your previous Application Type;
Step 2: Input your HKID number and reference number sent by SMS for validation;
Step 3: Authenticate with a One-Time Password sent by SMS;
Step 4: The page will lead you to where you dropped off (e.g. inputting financial information) and continue your application;
Step 5: Thereafter, the process will be the same as the Application Flow A for Starting a New Application.

Step 1: Go to the homepage and select “Continue Application” and your previous Application Type;
Step 2: Input your HKID number and reference number sent by SMS for validation;
Step 3: Authenticate with a One-Time Password sent by SMS;
Step 4: The page will lead you to where you dropped off (e.g. inputting financial information) and continue your application;
Step 5: Thereafter, the process will be the same as the Application Flow A for Starting a New Application.

C. Application Flow for a Joint Application
 

(Remark: For a joint application, details of each applicant should be submitted one by one separately, rather than submitted together at the same time)

Step 1: For the primary applicant (i.e. the first borrower who initiates the application), the application procedure will be the same as the Application Flow for Starting a New Application except the “Number of Applicants” will be more than one;
Step 2: The primary applicant copies and shares the reference number and hyperlink with other applicants (i.e. joint borrower or guarantor) after he/she finishes his/her part of the application;
Step 3: Joint borrowers/guarantors click the hyperlink,then select “Continue Application” and the corresponding application type to continue their part of the application;
Step 4: Joint borrowers/guarantors input their HKID together with the reference number shared by the primary applicant to validate and continue the joint application;
Step 5: Joint borrowers/guarantors continue to input their data for the mortgage application, the process of which is similar to the Application Flow for Starting a New Application;
Step 6: After the last applicant has completed his/her part of the application, One-minute Instant Approval will be processed, and all applicants will receive a confirmation email and SMS with the One-minute Instant Approval result.

One-minute Instant Approval is a free-of-charge service provided by DBS.
If my property is owned through a company, can I apply for a mortgage loan with the company’s name through DBS One-minute Instant Approval?

How long will it take to hear back from e-appointment or “Need Help” inquiry in DBS One-minute Instant Approval?
If the e-appointment or “Need Help” inquiry is submitted before 6pm on a business day, our Home Advice Specialist will contact you within 1 business day to assist you. However, if any e-appointment or “Need Help” inquiry is submitted after 6pm of a business day, it will be counted as submission on next business day and our Home Advice Specialist will contact you within 2 business days.
What kind of personal information will be collected through DBS One-minute Instant Approval?
Your personal information (including but not limited to your personal contact, personal income, financial situation and personal credit information) input in the application form will be collected for the One-minute Instant Approval and for our Home Advice Specialist to follow up with you. Your name, phone number and email address will be collected when you schedule an appointment through the Mortgage e-appointment. We will not share the above information with any third party or send you any unsolicited calls and/or emails.
How can joint applicants apply for mortgage in DBS One-minute Instant Approval?

What is the maximum number of joint applicants in a single application through DBS One-minute Instant Approval?

There can be a maximum of 5 joint applicants in a single application through DBS DigiMortgage, and joint applicants can select their respective capacities (borrower and mortgagor/guarantor) under the application, provided that the primary applicant must act as the borrower and mortgagor.

Can I resume my application in DBS One-minute Instant Approval if I log out during the process?

If you log out during the application process, you can resume your application with your HKID number and the reference number sent to you by SMS. Please refer to the Application Flow for Continuing your Unfinished Application for more details.   

What factors will be considered for DBS One-minute Instant Approval assessment?

Apart from considering the property’s age and the applicant’s age, income and financial situation, instant credit bureau checking and property valuation will be performed for the mortgage application assessment.

Can I rely on the DBS One-minute Instant Approval result to buy a home?

One-minute Instant Approval result is granted based on the information provided by you, your credit bureau checking and subject property valuation from the surveyor. However, information provided is required to be validated against necessary documents. Hence, the Final Approval result may vary from the One-minute Instant Approval. DBS reserves the right for a final decision of approval.

Customers should not make any financial decision based on the One-minute Instant Approval result. DBS will not be responsible or liable for any financial loss to the customer. The decision of DBS on all matters relating to the mortgage application is final and no appeal or correspondence will be entertained.

Do I need to submit any documents as supporting proof if I apply for a mortgage through DBS One-minute Instant Approval?
