“DBS COMPASS VISA Card InstaRedeem 8% Off” Terms and Conditions:

 

  1. “DBS COMPASS VISA Card InstaRedeem 8% Off Offer” (“Promotion”) is applicable to the principal cardholders (“Cardholders”) of DBS COMPASS VISA Card (“Applicable Credit Card”) issued by DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”), transaction by Internet Account and/or supplementary card is not applicable for this Promotion.
  2. Promotion period starts from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
  3. To be eligible for the Promotion, Cardholders are required to install the DBS Card+ mobile application, complete registration of the DBS Card+ account, and turn on notification of “InstaRedeem” in Turn on notification of “InstaRedeem” in DBS Card+ > Setting > Push Notification for enjoying the offer of this Promotion.
  4. Cardholders who complete a single retail transaction with Applicable Credit Card of HK$50 or above within the following 6 spending categories : supermarket, convenience store, designated coffee shops, Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service, online merchant and single retail transaction in foreign currency; or at designated merchants from HWL Group: only applicable to Watsons and PARKnSHOP (“Eligible Spending”, as defined in clause 5 below), can enjoy the offer of InstaRedeem 8% Off by adopting a conversion rate of $1 COMPASS Dollar to HK$1.09 (“Offer”) through the Red “InstaRedeem” button of DBS Card+ after the transaction posted, and displayed in the Timeline function of DBS Card+. Cardholders can redeem a maximum of $500 COMPASS Dollar for each Eligible Spending. Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service means the reload amount through Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service.
  5. For the purpose of the Promotion, “Eligible Spending” means any posted supermarket, convenience store, designated coffee shops, Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service transaction, online retail transaction, any posted retail transaction in foreign currency or any posted transaction at designated merchants from HWL Group: only applicable to Watsons and PARKnSHOP. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of transactions shall not be regarded as Eligible Spending: application fee/handling fee of Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service, monthly payment of “Card Interest-free Instalment Loan”, cash advance and relevant handling/administration fees, Balance Transfer, Flexi Cash, Call-a-loan, Funds Transfer, Fee Based Instalment, COMPASS VISA Flexi Shopping Instalment, tax payment, all bill payment transactions, transactions in Hong Kong Dollars at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) outside Hong Kong, casino chips, foreign exchange, security purchases, credit card annual fee, finance charges, late charges, reversed transactions, transaction that has been subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund, purchase and/or reload of stored value cards, reload of e-wallet (including but not limited to PayMe andWeChat Pay), purchase via e-wallet (except Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay and Alipay) or any other types of transactions as the Bank may specify from time to time.
  6. Definition of supermarket, convenience store, designated coffee shops, Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service transaction, online and/or foreign currency transactions, and transactions at designated HWL Group merchants: only applicable to Watsons and PARKnSHOP, are determined by the Bank at its sole discretion. List of key merchants under supermarket and convenience store can refer to “List of key supermarket and convenience store merchants”, and list of designated coffee shops can refer to “List of designated coffee shops”. The aforesaid lists are posted on the Promotion webpage and will be changed from time to time without any notice.
  7. All Eligible Spending will be counted based on the post date of transaction during Promotion Period. And Cardholders should enjoy the Offer through the Red “InstaRedeem” button of DBS Card+ by 15 January 2022, otherwise Offer will be forfeited without prior notice.
  8. Since COMPASS Dollar is in integral, if a Cardholder would like to fully set off the amount payable for the Eligible Spending, the Bank will first round down the required COMPASS Dollar to the nearest integer, then convert it into HK$ amount at the rate of $1 COMPASS DOLLAR to HK$1.09. If the converted HK$ amount has decimal places, the Bank will round up the amount to the nearest integer and credit the amount into the Applicable Credit Card account. For avoidance of doubt, please refer to the below calculation of (B) and (C) in the illustration using COMPASS Dollar for reference:

  9. Besides fully set off the amount payable for Eligible Spending, Cardholders can also choose to use COMPASS Dollar to set off part of it. In calculating the HK$ amount that can be set off, the amount will be rounded up to the nearest integer. For avoidance of doubt, please refer to the below calculation of (B) in the illustration using COMPASS Dollar for reference:

  10. If Cardholder’s Eligible Spending meets the Offer requirements of other “InstaRedeem” promotion at the same time, the Bank has the right to determine which Offer to be awarded in respect of the Eligible Spending. When the Eligible Spending has already been awarded under other “InstaRedeem” promotion, such Eligible Spending cannot be awarded with the Offer again under this Program and vice versa. In case of any disputes, the Bank reserves the right of final decision.
  11. Offer is only applicable to Cardholders whose Applicable Credit Card accounts are valid, not in default and in good standing (as determined by the Bank at its sole discretion) during the Promotion Period. If the status of a Cardholder’s Applicable Credit Card account is not in good standing, the Bank reserves the right to disqualify the Cardholder from participating in the Promotion and/or enjoying the Offer.
  12. A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions may not enforce any of their terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
  13. Cardholders must retain the original transaction slips of any transactions. In case of any disputes, the Bank reserves the right to require Cardholders to submit the relevant original transaction slips, other documents or evidence for verification. The submitted transaction slips, documents and/or evidence will not be returned. If there is any discrepancy between the Bank’s record and Cardholder’s record of any transaction, the Bank’s record shall prevail.
  14. Participation in the Promotion is subject to there being no abuse or non-compliance by the Cardholder, failing which the Bank will debit the values of the Offer from the Cardholder’s account without notice and/or take such action to recover any outstanding amounts.
  15. The Bank may change these terms and conditions and/or modify or terminate the Promotion. The Bank’s decision is final.
  16. The English version shall prevail if there is any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions.
