Eligibility

Hong Kong permanent residents aged 18 or above as of 31 March 2021 are eligible for the Government’s HK$10,000 Payout.

Sole-name HKD savings, current or multi-currency savings accounts opened with a Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card. Cashline, credit card accounts and joint accounts are not accepted.

No. The Government requires a bank account linked to a Hong Kong Identity Card Number to check your identification. Please visit our branches with your registered passport and Hong Kong Identity Card to update your personal particulars.

Only sole-name HKD savings, current or multi-currency savings accounts under DBS (Hong Kong) are accepted.

  2. Alternatively, you can visit any of our branches with your Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card to open an account.

You can only register one account with a bank that is participating in the Government’s HK$10,000 Payout. If you submit multiple applications with more than one participating banks, only the first one will be processed.

No, you can only register once. If your registration encounters any issues, you will be notified for follow-up actions.

Registration submission

  1. You will need the following:
    • Mobile no. (SMS-enabled)
    • Account no.
    • Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card no.
  2. Registration via DBS iBanking or DBS mobile banking is even simpler, as we will prepopulate the form with your personal information from bank record.

No, there are no processing or administrative fees.

No. To receive payment, the payee account holder name must match with that on the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card.

No, fax or email registration is not accepted.

Designated drop box will be placed in each of our branches from the beginning of the registration period until mid-October 2020. Afterwards, you can submit your registration form directly to our branch staff. Alternatively, you can mail your registration to: GPO Box 182020, Hong Kong. For easier processing, please address the envelope with attention to DBS Bank (Hong Kong).

It is highly recommended that you submit your form to any of our branches if you choose DBS to receive the payout.

No, you do not need to submit your registration twice. We will receive your application and process it accordingly. However, it will take longer to process paper form registrations compared to online registrations.

If you are using Google Chrome browser, please make sure that the zoom level is set at 100%.


Alternatively, you can log in to DBS iBanking, DBS digibank or the DBS iWealth® app to check your account number. However, we recommend that you register for cash payout through our online channels for a simpler registration process and faster payout.

Payment

Payment will start in July 2020. Online registration generally enables faster payout than submitting paper form.

Yes, when we receive your application, we will notify you by SMS, email or mail.

You will be notified by SMS, email or mail in the following cases: 1. your registration is accepted and payment has been credited to your registered account; 2. your registration is not accepted by the bank or the Government; or 3. failed payment.

  1. The payout will be denoted as “HKSARG$10000” in your transaction records on DBS iBanking, DBS digibank, the DBS iWealth® app and paper statements.
  2. The payout will be denoted with “HKG” in the reference field in your passbook.

If you register via our online channels, a confirmation SMS will be sent to your mobile no. registered with our bank, which is an authentication act required by the Government.

In some cases where the SMS content is too long, the content would be separated into two messages due to system constraints. In this case the messages could be sent from different phone numbers. Please rest assured that they are valid notifications for your attention.

Donation and rewards

No, you will receive the HK$10,000 cash payout in full from the Government through autopay. DBS will donate Food Packs to the Foodlink Foundation. However, you are welcome to donate to the Foodlink Foundation on your personal behalf to support the community in need.

All e-stamps awarded from the Government’s HK$10,000 Payout will be credited under the redemption period between 1 July 2020 and 30 September 2020 if you register by 30 September 2020. For details, refer to the Terms and Conditions of the e-Stamp programme.
