COMPASS VISA WELCOME OFFER TERMS & CONDITIONS

General Terms and Conditions:

  1. The welcome offer is only available to applicants who have successfully applied to be the principal cardholder (“Cardholder”) of COMPASS VISA Platinum to be issued by DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Bank”) (“New Card”) by submitting the COMPASS VISA Platinum Application Form (“Application Form”) to the Bank from 18 July 2017 to 31 October 2017 (“Offer Period”) and all supporting documents required by the Bank within one month from the date of application.
  2. Unless otherwise specified, welcome offer is applicable to both New Customer and Existing Customer: New Customer shall mean applicants who, during the New Card approval process have not applied for or held, and in the 12 months prior to the date of application for the New Card have not held and/or cancelled any principal credit card (including Co-branded Cards and COMPASS Credit Card) issued by the Bank ("New Customer"). Existing Customer shall mean applicants who, during the New Card approval process have applied for or held, or in the 12 months prior to the date of application for the New Card have cancelled any principal credit card (including Co-branded Cards, COMPASS Credit Card) issued by the Bank ("Existing Customer").
  3. New Customer shall indicate his/her choice of any ONE of the following Welcome Gifts on the Application Form: “$600 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” or “Récolte Pot Duo Qualité (Red)[model: RPD-2 (QS)]” or “HK Express Ufly-Pass” or “ELLE Vortex Collection 24” Suitcase [Model: 51205]” or “10 times free Flexi Shopping” or “Up-to 6 MCL Movie Vouchers” (collectively referred to as “Welcome Gifts”).
  4. Existing Customer shall indicate his/her choice of any ONE of the following Welcome Gifts on the Application Form: “$200 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” or “2 MCL Movie Vouchers” (collectively referred to as “Welcome Gifts”). Welcome Gifts for Existing Cardholder are not eligible for tertiary student application form.
  5. If Cardholder has not indicated his/her choice or indicated more than one choice as to what he/she would like to receive under the welcome offer in the Application Form, Cardholder will automatically be assigned “$600 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” (New Customer) or “$200 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” (Existing Customer) as his/her Welcome Gift. If Cardholder has not indicated his/her choice or indicated more than one choice as to what he/she would like to receive under the welcome offer in the Tertiary Student Application Form, Cardholder will automatically be assigned “Up-to 6 MCL Movie Vouchers” as his/her Welcome Gift. Once such choice has been made, it cannot be changed.
  6. If Cardholder has successfully applied for more than one New Card with the Bank by submitting multiple Application Forms to the Bank, he/she will only be entitled to redeem ONE Welcome Gift in respect of all applications submitted during the Offer Period.
  7. For the purpose of this Promotion, “Eligible Spending” means any posted retail transactions, reload amount of Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service and/or monthly payment of “Card Interest-free Instalment Loan”. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of transactions shall not be considered as Eligible Spending : cash advance and relevant handling/administration fees, application fee/handling fee of Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service, Balance Transfer, Flexi Cash, Call-a-loan, Funds Transfer, Fee Based Instalment, COMPASS VISA Flexi Shopping Instalment, tax payment, reload of e-Wallets (e.g. PayMe and WeChat Pay), all bill payment transactions made via Internet/JETCO/24-hour Customer Service Hotline, transactions in Hong Kong Dollars at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) outside Hong Kong, casino chips, foreign exchange, security purchases, credit card annual fee, finance charges, late charges, reversed transactions, transaction that has been subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund or any other types of transactions as the Bank may specify from time to time. All Eligible Spending will be counted base on the transaction date and conducted during Promotion Period.
  8. Fulfillment of the Spending Requirement, if any, shall be calculated based on Eligible Spending conducted with each New Card successfully applied during the Offer Period. If Cardholder has successfully applied for more than one New Card, Eligible Spending conducted with different New Cards cannot be combined for the purpose of calculating fulfillment of the Spending Requirement. The amount of any Eligible Spending conducted through any supplementary card under the New Card will be aggregated with that of the principal card account of the New Card.
  9. Welcome offer cannot be exchanged for cash, credit limit or other prizes.
  10. Except the “$200/$600 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” and “10 times free Flexi Shopping”, the Welcome Gift is available while stocks last. If stock of the Welcome Gift has ran out, the Bank has the right to provide Cardholder with an alternative gift without further notice.
  11. Except the “$200/$600 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” and “10 times free Flexi Shopping”, the Bank is not the supplier of the Welcome Gift or the description, photos or reference price (if any) in relation to the Welcome Gift published in our marketing materials which are intended to be for reference only. Any enquiry, claim or complaint in relation to the quality or availability of the Welcome Gift or the accuracy of any of the aforementioned information contained in the marketing materials shall be directed to the relevant supplier. The Bank shall assume no liability in respect thereof.
  12. Welcome offer is only available to Cardholders whose credit card accounts are in good standing, remain valid and not in default during the relevant Spending Period and when the welcome offer is issued. If the account status has changed, the Bank reserves the right to terminate the welcome offer for the Cardholder and/or charge the Cardholder with any amount of the welcome offer awarded without prior notice. The Bank shall have the sole discretion in determining a Cardholder’s eligibility to the welcome offer.
  13. Eligibility of any transaction for the purpose of entitlement to any welcome offer shall be determined based on its transaction date and time on the Bank’s record. If there is any discrepancy between the Bank’s record and Cardholder’s transaction slip, the Bank’s record and determination shall be final and conclusive.
  14. Participation in the welcome offer promotion is subject to there being no abuse/non compliance by the customer, failing which the Bank will debit the value of the welcome gift from the customer’s account without notice and/or take such action to recover any outstanding amounts.
  15. The Bank may change the terms and conditions and/or modify/terminate the welcome offer. The Bank’s decision is final.
  16. The English version shall prevail if there is any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions.
  17. For New Customer and Existing Customer who select “$600 / $200 COMPASS Dollar Rebate” (Welcome Gift):

New Customer must download DBS Omni App, register and activate Omni account within 1 month from New Card issuance date and accumulate Eligible Spending of HK$6,800 with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) or above within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible to earn $600 COMPASS Dollar Welcome Gift.
  19. Existing Customer must accumulate Eligible Spending of HK$2,800 with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) or above within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible to earn $200 COMPASS Dollar.
  20. Welcome Gift will be credited to Applicable Credit Card account within 3 months after fulfilled Spending Requirement within Spending Period and be shown in monthly statement.
  21. For New Customer who select “Récolte Pot Duo Qualité (Red)[model: RPD-2 (QS)]/ ELLE Vortex Collection 24” Suitcase [Model: 51205]” (“Welcome Gift”):

  22. Cardholder will receive the redemption letter with full detail of the redemption arrangement within 6 weeks after Cardholder’s New Card has been activated. Cardholder must follow the instruction captured in the redemption letter, complete the registration, and input the required fields for arranging the redemption of Cardholder’s Welcome Gift via the DBS Omni of mobile phone application or through log-in to our Omni website cards.dbs.com.hk. The Bank will appoint our designated courier company to deliver the Welcome Gift to Cardholder’s designated mailing address, and redemption of Welcome Gift should be ALL completed by delivery. Delivery service is free of charge, except the following non-urban areas, Cardholder will need to pick up Cardholder’s Welcome Gift at our designated redemption centre. Welcome Gift redemption is bounded by the terms and conditions which printed on the Welcome Gift redemption letter. For the arrangement of Welcome Gift delivery/redemption, all information Cardholder provided for delivery (such as recipient name and address) will be forwarded to our designated courier company for the purpose of Welcome Gift delivery/redemption.
  23. Following are the non-urban areas: Outlying Island (except Lantau Island, Ma Wan, Cheung Chau, Lamma Island and Peng Chau), Mui Wo, Pui O, Cheung Sha, Tong Fuk, Shek Pik, Tai O, Discovery Bay, Ta Kwu Ling, Mai Po, Tsuen Wan Slaughterhouse, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To, designated of restricted zones, Container Terminals, Hong Kong International Airports, Hong Kong Disneyland.

    Delivery to following area is only applicable to office and administrative building: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

  24. New Customer must accumulate Eligible Spending of HK$6,800 with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) or above within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible to “Récolte Pot Duo Qualité (Red)[model: RPD-2 (QS)]” or accumulate Eligible Spending of HK$6,800 with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) or above within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible to “ELLE Vortex Collection 24” Suitcase [Model: 51205]” for free of charge.
  25. If New Customer have successfully redeemed/been rewarded the Welcome Gift but failed to meet the Spending Requirement of relevant Welcome Gift by the respective Spending Period, the Bank will debit the below amount directly from Cardholder’s New Card account without prior notice: HK$888 for “Récolte Pot Duo Qualité (Red)[model: RPD-2 (QS)]” or HK$3,280 for “ELLE Vortex Collection 24” Suitcase [Model: 51205]”.
  26. For New Customer who select “HK Express Ufly-Pass” (“Welcome Gift”):

  27. Cardholder will receive the redemption letter with full detail of the redemption arrangement within 6 weeks after Cardholder’s New Card has been activated. Cardholder must follow the instruction captured in the redemption letter and complete the registration for arranging the redemption of Cardholder’s Welcome Gift via the DBS Omni of mobile phone application or through log-in to our Omni website cards.dbs.com.hk. HK Express will send out the Welcome gift to the corresponding email address of Cardholder within 3 weeks after registration.
  28. Welcome Gift is bounded by HK Express related terms and conditions, for details, please visit HK Express official website (hkexpress.com). The major benefit of the Welcome Offer is that Cardholder may apply to be an Ufly-Pass member of HK Express for buying their discounted air ticket in priority, while in general, HK Express will notify their Ufly-Pass member about the promotion details 6 hours in advance via direct marketing before it is extended to the public. And thus, as requested by HK Express, Cardholders who have chosen to receive the Welcome Gift is required to give their consent to HK Express for allowing HK Express to contact them via direct marketing. If applicant does not wish to provide consent for the said direct marketing, applicant might not enjoy the benefit of Ufly-Pass, and is suggested to choose another welcome gift.
  29. New Customer must accumulate Eligible Spending of HK$2,000 with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) or above within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible to Welcome Gift for free of charge.
  30. If New Customer have successfully redeemed/been rewarded the Welcome Gift but failed to meet the Spending Requirement of relevant Welcome Gift by the respective Spending Period, the Bank will debit the below amount directly from Cardholder’s New Card account without prior notice: HK$888 for “HK Express Ufly-Pass”.
  31. For New Customer who select “10 times free Flexi Shopping” (“Welcome Gift”):

  32. New Customer must spend with the New Card within 6 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”), and register Flexi Shopping instalment service for the related transactions thought DBS Omni App within the Spending Period to be eligible to enjoy the 10 times free Flexi Shopping handling fee rebate for the first 10 Flexi Shopping successful applications.
  33. Welcome gift has included the one-time Free trial 12-month Flexi Shopping Promotion.
  34. Rebate will be credited to Cardholder’s New Card account within 4 months after successful application of Flexi Shopping.
  35. Flexi Shopping is bounded by COMPASS VISA Flexi-Shopping Terms and Conditions, for details, please visit: https://cards.dbs.com.hk/en/flexishopping/index.html.
  36. For New Customer and Existing Customer who select “Up-to 6 / 2 MCL Movie Vouchers” (“Welcome Gift”):

Cardholders must accumulate Eligible Spending in the amount of HK$4,800 or above with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible for 4 MCL Movie Vouchers for New Customer and 2 MCL Movie Vouchers for Existing Customer. If New Customer successfully download DBS Omni App, register and activate Omni account within 1 month from New Card issuance date, and fulfilled Spending Requirement, Cardholder will be entitled to extra 2 MCL Movie Vouchers, total 6 MCL Movie Vouchers.
  38. Cardholders who submitted tertiary student application form must accumulate Eligible Spending in the amount of HK$1,800 or above with the New Card (“Spending Requirement”) within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to be eligible for 4 MCL Movie Vouchers. If Cardholder successfully download DBS Omni App, register and activate Omni account within 1 month from New Card issuance date, and fulfilled Spending Requirement, Cardholder will be entitled to extra 2 MCL Movie Vouchers, total 6 MCL Movie Vouchers.
  39. Welcome offer will be directly sent to the address registered with the New Card account within 4 months after Cardholders have fulfilled Spending Requirement within Spending Period. The Bank will not be responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen of MCL Movie Vouchers.
  40. The voucher can be used for redeem the movie ticket at following MCL cinemas, include: Festival Grand Cinema, Grand Kornhill Cinema, Grand Windsor Cinema, STAR Cinema, MCL Metro City Cinema, MCL Telford Cinema, MCL South Horizons Cinema and MCL Green Code Cinema. The use of the MCL Movie Vouchers is bounded by merchant’s terms and conditions, for details, please refer to related terms and conditions printed on the voucher or check with the respective cinema staff.
