DBS Black World Mastercard® Welcome Offer Terms and Conditions

  1. The DBS Black World Mastercard Welcome Offer (“Welcome Offer”) is only available to applicants who have successfully applied to become the principal cardholder of DBS Black World Mastercard issued by DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”) (“New Card”) by submitting the DBS Black World Mastercard Application Form (“Application Form”) to the Bank during the period from 1 October 2020 to 30 November 2020 (“Offer Period”) and all supporting documents required by the Bank within one month from the date of application.
  2. Unless otherwise specified, the Welcome Offer is applicable to both “New Customers” and “Existing Customers” (collectively, the “Customers”). “New Customers” shall mean applicants who, during the New Card approval process have not applied for, do not currently hold, or in the 12 months prior to the date of application for the New Card, have not held and/or cancelled any principal credit cards (including co-branded cards and/or COMPASS VISA credit cards) issued by the Bank. “Existing Customers" shall mean applicants who are not New Customers.
  3. Under the Welcome Offer, Customers are entitled to choose any one applicable welcome gift (“Welcome Gift”) set out below:

  4. Customer shall indicate his/her choice of the Welcome Gift on the Application Form. If Customer has not indicated his/her choice or indicated more than one choice in the Application Form, Customer will automatically be assigned “Up to 50,000 miles, as low as HK$0.5 = 1 miles” (for New Customer) or “Up to $200 “InstaRedeem” Amount” (for Existing Customer) as his/her Welcome Gift. Once such choice has been made or assigned, it cannot be changed.
  5. Each Customer can enjoy the Welcome Offer once during the Offer Period. For the avoidance of doubt, if Customer has successfully applied for more than one New Card with the Bank by submitting multiple Application Forms to the Bank, he/she will only be entitled to redeem ONE Welcome Gift in respect of all applications submitted during the Offer Period.
  6. Customer must download DBS Omni mobile application (“DBS Omni”), register and activate DBS Omni account within 1 month of the New Card issuance date in order to be eligible to the Welcome Gift. For the Existing Customer who has already registered and activated DBS Omni, there is no need to register again.
  7. Terms and conditions applicable to “Up to 50,000 miles, as low as HK$0.5 = 1 miles” (“Miles Reward”):
  8. 7.1. Local Spending (“Local Spending “, as defined in clause 10 below) and Overseas Spending (“Overseas Spending “, as defined in clause 11 below) accumulated by the eligible New Customer with the New Card within 2 months of the New Card issuance date can be converted into miles using the conversion rate shown in the table below, up to a maximum of 50,000 miles:

    7.2. The Miles Reward will be awarded to the eligible New Customers in the form of DBS$ for the New Customers to redeem miles by themselves. Hence, New Customer must choose to participate in the DBS$ Redemption Scheme. The DBS$ awarded to the New Customer shall include the spending reward earned by the New Customer under the DBS$ Reward Scheme (“Basic Reward”). For the avoidance of doubt, please refer to the below examples for calculation method:

    7.3. Basic Reward will be credited to the New Card account automatically and shown on the monthly statement after the relevant transactions are posted. Extra Reward will be credited to the New Card account of the eligible New Customer within six months after the New Card issuance date and shown on the monthly statement.

  9. Terms and conditions applicable to “Rollink Flex 21 Foldable Suitcase + 2,000 miles”:
  10. 8.1. “Spending Requirement”: eligible New Customer must accumulate Local Spending (“Local Spending “, as defined in clause 9 below) and/or Overseas Spending (“Overseas Spending “, as defined in clause 10 below) reaching HK$6,800 or above with the New Card within 2 months of the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) to enjoy Rollink Flex 21 Foldable Suitcase <Orange> (“Suitcase”) + 2,000 miles.
    8.2.The Bank will notify the New Customers the details of redeeming the Suitcase by SMS within 3 months after the New Card was activated. New Customer must follow the instructions in the SMS to complete the registration via DBS Omni within 1 month from receiving the said message. It shall be invalid after the expiry date and will be considered as giving up the Suitcase, no change or replacement will be accepted. Further details and terms and conditions of redemption of Suitcase will be set out in DBS Omni menu bar > Redeem Rewards > Registration for Welcome Gift.
    8.3.If New Customer successfully redeemed the Suitcase but is not able to meet the Spending Requirement within the Spending Period, the Bank will debit HK$898 directly from New Customer’s New Card account after the end of the Spending Period without prior notice.
    8.4.2,000 miles will be awarded to the eligible New Customers in the form of DBS$ (i.e. DBS$96) for the New Customers to redeem miles by themselves. Hence, New Customers must choose to participate in the DBS$ Redemption Scheme. DBS$96 will be credited to the New Card account of the eligible New Customer within six months after the New Card issuance date and shown on the monthly statement. New Customers who cannot fulfill the Spending Requirement within the Spending Period will not be awarded to DBS$96.
    8.5.The Suitcase is available while stocks last. The Bank has the right to provide eligible New Customer with an alternative gift.
    8.6.The Bank is not the supplier of the Suitcase or the description, photos or reference price (if any) in relation to the Suitcase published in our marketing materials (which are intended to be for reference only). Any enquiry, claim or complaint in relation to the quality or availability of the Suitcase or the accuracy of any of the aforementioned information contained in the marketing materials shall be directed to the relevant supplier. The Bank shall assume no liability in respect thereof.
  11. Terms and conditions applicable to “Up to $200 “InstaRedeem” Amount”:
  12. 9.1. Eligible Existing Customers will be entitled to Up to $200 “InstaRedeem” Amount (““InstaRedeem” Amount”) on the posted retail transaction including Local Spending and Overseas Spending (as defined in clause 10 and 11 below) upon accumulated amount of HK$1,800 or above (“Spending Requirement”) conducted with the New Card within 3 months from the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”).
    9.2. The “InstaRedeem” Amount will be sent to eligible Existing Customers as follows:
    9.2.1. The “InstaRedeem” Amount will be awarded to the eligible Existing Customers via the red “InstaRedeem” button of DBS Omni upon completing Eligible Spending with the New Card and when the Eligible Spending is displayed on Timeline of DBS Omni. Reloads of e-Wallets (Included but not limited to PayMe, WeChat Pay and Alipay) and retail transactions paid through e-Wallets will not be considered as spending for pushing of the red “InstaRedeem” button.
    9.2.2. In order to receive push notification, eligible Existing Customers must enable the “InstaRedeem” push notification of DBS Omni.
    9.2.3. “InstaRedeem” Amount will be sub-divided into 4 times (HK$50 each time) and pushed automatically to the eligible Existing Customer once per calendar month after the eligible Existing Customer has completed Eligible Spending with amount of HK$50 or above. The eligible Existing Customer can use the “InstaRedeem” Amount received to set off the amount payable for that transaction via the “InstaRedeem” function of DBS Omni. If the eligible Existing Customer has not completed transactions to enjoy the entire “InstaRedeem” Amount within 4 months after the New Card was issued, he/she will be deemed to have forfeited the related “InstaRedeem” Amount. The Bank will not make any special arrangements and any forms of compensation. For avoidance of doubt, please refer to the below example:
    Assume the New Card of the Existing Customer was issued on 4 October 2020. The Existing Customer downloaded DBS Omni, registered and activated DBS Omni account on 16 October 2020. The Existing Customer spent with the New Card on the following dates. The table below shows the “InstaRedeem” Amount awarded to the Existing Customer under this case:

    9.2.4. The “InstaRedeem” amount as a Welcome Offer cannot be enjoyed in conjunction with other “InstaRedeem” promotion offers offered by the Bank and the merchants. If Existing Customer’s Eligible Spending meets the requirements of more than one "InstaRedeem" promotion at the same time for receiving rewards, the Bank may determine the order of issuing "InstaRedeem" rewards; when the Eligible Spending has already been rewarded in one of the "InstaRedeem" promotions, the Eligible Spending cannot be rewarded again from other "InstaRedeem" promotions. In case of any disputes, the Bank reserves the right of final decision.
    9.2.5. If Existing Customer is successfully issued the “InstaRedeem” amount, but is not able to meet the Spending Requirement within the Spending Period, the Bank will debit the issued “InstaRedeem” amount directly from Existing Customer’s New Card account after the end of the Spending Period without prior notice.
  13. For the purpose of Welcome Offer, “Local Spending” refers to the posted retail transactions settled in Hong Kong Dollars and Macau Pataca conducted at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) in Hong Kong and Macau. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of transactions shall not be considered as Local Spending: non Hong Kong Dollars or Macau Pataca transactions, cash advances and relevant handling/administration fees, application fee/handling fee and add value of Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service, casino chips, foreign exchange, finance charges, reversed transactions, late charges, credit card annual fee, “Call-a-loan”, “Balance Transfer”, “Funds Transfer”, “Fee Based Instalment Programme”, “Flexi-Shopping Programme”, transactions in Hong Kong Dollars at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) outside Hong Kong (“DCC Transaction”), insurance payment, tax payment, reload of e-Wallets (including but not limited to PayMe, WeChat Pay and Alipay), any bill payment transactions made via DBS iBanking/JET Payment Service of JETCO/24-hour Customer Services Hotline or any other means as specified by the Bank from time to time, transactions that have been subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund or any other types of transactions specified by the Bank from time to time. For Local Spending being settled with a Card Interest-free Instalment Loan, only posted monthly instalments will be counted.
  14. For the purpose of Welcome Offer, “Overseas Spending” means any posted retail transactions settled in foreign currencies, excluding Macau Pataca, conducted at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) outside Hong Kong. For the purpose of this Welcome Gift, retail transaction settled in Macau Pataca shall be counted as Local Spending, while DCC Transaction shall not be counted as Overseas Spending. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of transactions shall not be considered as Overseas Spending: cash advances and relevant handling/administration fees, casino chips, foreign exchange, reversed transactions, insurance payment, reload of e-Wallets (including but not limited to PayMe, WeChat Pay and Alipay), transactions that have been subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund or any other types of transactions specified by the Bank from time to time.
  15. Calculation of Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending shall be based on the spending conducted with each New Card successfully applied during the Offer Period. If a Customer has successfully applied for more than one New Card, the Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending conducted with different New Cards cannot be combined. The amount of any Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending conducted through any supplementary card under the New Card will be aggregated with that of the principal card of the New Card for the purpose of calculating the amount of Local Spending and/ or Overseas Spending.
  16. Welcome Gift is only available to Customers whose New Card accounts are determined in the sole discretion of the Bank to be in good standing, remain valid and not in default during the period from New Card issuance date to issuance of the Welcome Gift. The Bank shall have the sole discretion in determining a Customer’s entitlement to the Welcome Gift.
  17. Customers must keep the original receipt of each Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending transaction. In case of disputes about the entitlement of Welcome Gift, the Bank reserves the right to require the Customer to present the original receipt of the Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending transactions for verification. If there is any discrepancy between the Bank’s record and Customer’s receipt, the Bank’s record and determination shall be final and conclusive.
  18. Entitlement to the Welcome Offer is subject to there being no abuse/non compliance by the Customer, failing which the Bank will debit the value of the Welcome Offer from the Customer’s account without notice and/or take such action to recover any outstanding amounts.
  19. The Bank may change these terms and conditions and/or modify or terminate the Welcome Offer. The Bank’s decision is final.
  20. The English version shall prevail if there is any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions.
