“Selected customers limited offer - Black World Mastercard® Welcome Offer” Promotion Terms and Conditions (Revised version: Key update on promotion period extension)

  1. “Selected customers limited offer - DBS Black World Mastercard Welcome Offer” (“Welcome Offer”) is only available to customers who have successfully received email or MMS from DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”) (“Selected Customers”) and to become the principal cardholder of DBS Black World Mastercard issued by the Bank (“New Card”) by submitting the DBS Black World Mastercard Application Form (“Application Form”) to the Bank on or before 10 May 2019 (“Offer Period”) and all supporting documents required by the Bank within one month from the date of application. Selected Customers cannot transfer their eligibility to others.
  2. Under the Welcome Offer, Selected Customers are entitled “Up to 2,000 Miles” as their welcome gift (“Welcome Gift”). Each Selected Customer can enjoy the Welcome Offer once during the Offer Period. For the avoidance of doubt, if a Selected Customer has successfully applied for more than one New Card with the Bank by submitting multiple Application Forms to the Bank, he/she will only be entitled to redeem ONE Welcome Gift in respect of all applications submitted during the Offer Period.
  3. Selected Customers must download DBS Omni, register and activate DBS Omni account within 2 months of the New Card issuance date in order to be eligible to the Welcome Gift.
  4. The Welcome Gift will be credited or sent to eligible Selected Customers as follows:
    1. Selected Customers who accumulate Local Spending (as defined in clause 4.2 below) and Overseas Spending (as defined in clause 4.3 below) (“Eligible Spending”) and reach a specific spending amount (the amount of each Eligible Spending will be rounded down to the nearest integral, decimal places (if any) will not be counted) with the New Card within 2 months after the New Card issuance date (“Spending Period”) can enjoy up to 2,000 extra Miles as shown in the table below:

      * Selected Customers can only enjoy one tier of extra miles, whichever is higher, and the relevant Overseas Spending is calculated based on the Hong Kong dollar settlement amount shown on the monthly statement.

    2. For the purpose of this Welcome Gift, “Local Spending” refers to the posted retail transactions settled in Hong Kong Dollars and Macau Pataca conducted at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) in Hong Kong and Macau. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of transactions shall not be considered as Local Spending: non Hong Kong Dollars or Macau Pataca transactions, cash advances and relevant handling/administration fees, application fee/handling fee and add value of Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service, casino chips, foreign exchange, finance charges, reversed transactions, late charges, credit card annual fee, “Call-a-loan”, “Balance Transfer”, “Funds Transfer”, “Fee Based Instalment Programme”, “Flexi-Shopping Programme”, transactions in Hong Kong Dollars at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) outside Hong Kong (“DCC Transaction”), insurance payment, tax payment, reload of e-Wallets (e.g. PayMe and WeChat Pay), any bill payment transactions made via DBS iBanking/JET Payment Service of JETCO/24-hour Customer Services Hotline or any other means as specified by the Bank from time to time, transactions that have been subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund or any other types of transactions specified by the Bank from time to time. For Local Spending being settled with a Card Interest-free Instalment Loan, only posted monthly instalments will be counted.
    3. For the purpose of this Welcome Gift, “Overseas Spending” means any posted retail transactions settled in foreign currencies, excluding Macau Pataca conducted at the point of sales (in case of online transactions, the place of registration and/or settlement of the merchant) outside Hong Kong. For the purpose of this Welcome Gift, retail transaction settled in Macau Pataca shall be counted as Local Spending, while DCC Transaction shall not be counted as Overseas Spending. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of transactions shall not be considered as Overseas Spending: cash advances and relevant handling/administration fees, casino chips, foreign exchange, reversed transactions, insurance payment, reload of e-Wallets (e.g. PayMe and WeChat Pay), transactions that have been subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund or any other types of transactions specified by the Bank from time to time.
    4. Calculation of Local Spending and/ or Overseas Spending shall be based on the spending conducted with each New Card successfully applied during the Offer Period. If a Selected Customers has successfully applied for more than one New Card, the Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending conducted with different New Cards cannot be combined. The amount of any Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending conducted through any supplementary card under the New Card will be aggregated with that of the principal card of the New Card for the purpose of calculating the amount of Local Spending and/or Overseas Spending.
    5. The Welcome Gift will be awarded to the eligible New Customers in the form of DBS$ for the Selected Customers to redeem miles by themselves. Hence, Selected Customers must choose to participate in the DBS$ Redemption Scheme.
    6. Basic Reward will be credited to the New Card account automatically and shown on the monthly statement after the relevant transactions are posted. Welcome Gift will be credited to the New Card account of the eligible Selected Customers no later than the sixth months after the New Card issuance date and shown on the monthly statement.
  5. Welcome Gift is only available to Selected Customers whose New Card accounts are determined in the sole discretion of the Bank to be in good standing, remain valid and not in default during the period from New Card issuance date to issuance of the Welcome Gift. The Bank shall have the sole discretion in determining a Selected Customers’ entitlement to the Welcome Gift.
  6. Selected Customers must keep the original receipt of each eligible spending transaction. In case of disputes about the entitlement of Welcome Gift, the Bank reserves the right to require the Selected Customers to present the original receipt of the eligible spending transactions for verification. If there is any discrepancy between the Bank’s record and Selected Customers’ receipt, the Bank’s record and determination shall be final and conclusive.
  7. “DBS COMPASS Bonus Point Balance Transfer”

  8. To participate “DBS COMPASS Bonus Point Balance Transfer” Promotion (“Promotion”), Selected Customers are required to register for this Promotion between 12:00noon (HK Time) on 30 April 2019 and 11:59pm (HK Time) on 31 May 2019 (“Registration Period”) at DBS Omni Mobile Application or webpage (go.dbs.com/hk-registration-en) following below steps:
    1. i) Register DBS Omni account (for those Cardholders who are already with DBS Omni account may skip step i and go to step ii directly);
      ii) Registration procedures:
      Step 1: select “Registration for Marketing Offers” from “Earn Rewards” in menu
      Step 2: choose “DBS COMPASS Bonus Point Balance Transfer” program
      Step 3: press “Register Now” and select the credit card as shown on the screen (“Designated Credit Card”)
      Step 4: Cardholders have to read and confirm the acceptance of the terms and conditions of related Promotion and register the program by the Designated Credit Card Cardholders will be given a reference number upon successful registration for record and enquiry purposes. Cardholders who fail to register this Promotion during the Registration Period shall not be eligible to participate in this Promotion.
    2. Designated Credit Card number cannot be changed. Even if Select Customer owns more than one DBS COMPASS VISA, the bonus point balance cannot be combined among credit cards.
    3. The bonus point will be transferred from the Designated Credit Card to the New Card at each $1 COMPASS Dollar equals DBS$1.
    4. 31 May 2019 will be counted as bonus point balance cutoff of the Designated Credit Card for bonus point conversion, and the entire bonus point balance will be transferred from the Designated Credit Card to the New Card by 30 June 2019. All the bonus points that are earned after 31 May 2019 will not be transferred to the New Card.
    5. No amendment is allowed once the bonus point is transferred to the New Card.
  9. A person who is not a party to these terms and conditions may not enforce any of their terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
  10. Entitlement to the Welcome Offer is subject to there being no abuse/non compliance by the Selected Customers, failing which the Bank will debit the value of the Welcome Offer from the Selected Customers’ account without notice and/or take such action to recover any outstanding amounts.
  11. The Bank may change these terms and conditions and/or modify or terminate the Welcome Offer. The Bank’s decision is final.
  12. The English version shall prevail if there is any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions.
