1. What are the services provided through DBS mBanking?

Most of the financial services provided by DBS iBanking are available through DBS mBanking, and the key services available are listed below:

  • Check account balances and transaction history
  • Transfer funds to self-named accounts within DBS
  • Transfer funds to registered accounts in DBS or other local banks
  • Pay bills to non-designated merchants of selected categories
  • Trade local securities
  • Open time deposit account and change time deposit maturity instruction
  • Check balances, transaction history and funds transfer of Wealth Management Investment Portfolio (For DBS Private Bank, DBS Treasures Private Client and DBS Treasures customers with Wealth Management Investment Portfolio )
Apart from the above services, you can also locate our nearest branch and ATM addresses via DBS mBanking.
2. How can I get started on DBS mBanking?

If you are not a DBS iBanking customer, you can visit our branches, website to register for DBS iBanking. You can then use your DBS iBanking username and password to log on to DBS mBanking and check your account balances. To use other services depicted in (1) above, please enter the one-time password (“OTP”) generated by SMS or your secure device first.

If you are already an existing DBS iBanking customer, you can visit our branches, website to request for and activate a secure device for DBS iBanking. You can then use your DBS iBanking username and password to log on to DBS mBanking and check your account balances. To use other services depicted in (1) above, please enter the OTP generated by SMS or your secure device first.
3. Are there any service charges for using DBS mBanking?
DBS mBanking is a free service provided by our bank. Service charges will only be levied for designated services. For details, please refer to our Bank Charges Schedule.
However, your telecommunications service providers may impose data charges. Please check with your service providers for details.
4. Which mobile devices can I use to access DBS mBanking?
Please refer to ‘Supported Mobile Devices List’ by our bank.
5. Do I need to use any particular telecommunications service providers?
DBS mBanking is available to all telecommunications service providers.
6. Can I access DBS mBanking overseas?
You can access DBS mBanking wherever your mobile device connects to the Internet. Please be reminded that data roaming charges may apply. For details, please contact your telecommunication service providers.
7. What is Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect?
The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK), a wholly-owned subsidiary of HKEx, and Shanghai Stock Exchange established mutual order-routing connectivity and related technical infrastructure to enable investors of their respective market to trade designated equity securities listed in the other’s market. 8. Where can I trade Stock Connect?
To place order for Stock Connect securities, please call our Customer Services Hotline at 2290 8888.
9. Why I cannot find Stock Connect securities in order status and transaction history?
Currently only stocks that are listed on the HKEx will be shown in DBS iBanking and DBS mBanking. For information on Stock Connect related securities, please call our Customer Services Hotline at 2290 8888.
10. Is the settlement arrangement for Stock Connect different from existing trading stocks in HKEx?
Yes. Under Shanghai Hong Kong Stock Connect, the stock settlement date (T+0) and the cash settlement date (T+1) do not fall on the same day. For details, please refer to http://www.hkex.com.hk/chinaconnect .
11. Why is there a pop-up asking me to register my device when I log into DBS mBanking application?
Upon registration of your device, you will receive push notifications that notifies you of the Bank’s latest offers, including promotions and coupons that are currently available to customers. To enjoy this service, you simply need to register your device when you log into DBS mBanking application. After registration of your device, highlights of the Bank’s promotions and coupons that are available for you (based on your device registration records) will be shown in the tab “My offers” even before you log into our application.
12. Can I reset the registration after first-time device registration?
You can log into DBS mBanking application, go to welcome page > “Settings” and reset your device registration anytime.
13. Can I opt-in or opt-out receiving push notifications?
You can log into DBS mBanking application, go to welcome page > “Settings” and change your device registration anytime.

1. What kind of accounts can be viewed via DBS mBanking?
You can check the account balance and transaction history of the following types of account:
  • Current account
  • Savings account
  • Multi-currency and RMB account
  • New generation easy saver plan
  • Time deposit
  • Currency Linked Investment
  • Equity linked deposit
  • Structured investment product
  • Securities account
  • Investment fund account

Funds Transfer

1. To what kind of accounts can I make transfers via DBS mBanking?
You can transfer HKD to self-named accounts held with our bank, and registered accounts with our bank or other local banks. Apart from HKD funds transfer, you can also exchange foreign currency within your self-named accounts held with our bank.
2. Is there any daily limit for transactions conducted via DBS mBanking?
The daily limit for DBS mBanking is shared with DBS iBanking. Please log on to DBS iBanking for details of your daily limit.
3. Would there be any difference in the registered accounts linked to DBS iBanking and DBS mBanking?
The registered accounts linked to DBS iBanking and DBS mBanking are identical.
4. How can I register a third party account for transfers via DBS mBanking?
You can register third party accounts at any of our branches. Transfers to the registered accounts may be conducted via DBS iBanking and DBS mBanking.
5. What type of instructions may be viewed in the Scheduled Transaction Summary?
In this section, you can view all pending and rejected scheduled transactions. You can also delete scheduled instructions that are pending. For other types of instructions, please refer to DBS iBanking.


Bill Payment

1. Is there any daily limit for transactions conducted via DBS mBanking?
The daily limit amount for DBS mBanking is shared with DBS iBanking. Please log on to DBS iBanking for details of your daily limit.
2. Would there be any difference in the “My Payee List” on DBS iBanking and DBS mBanking?
Bill payments to merchants in the categories set out below cannot be conducted via DBS mBanking even they are included in “My Payee List” of DBS iBanking. If you want to pay bills to those merchants, please log on to DBS iBanking to do so.

3. What type of instructions may be viewed in the Scheduled Transaction Summary?

Securities Trading

1. What functions are available in Securities Trading?
The following functions are available:
  • Place Order
  • Holdings
  • Order Status
  • Transaction History
  • Market Information
You are able to trade in Hong Kong market only.
2. What type of orders can be made for securities trading?
You can place "Enhanced Limit Order", "Market Order", "At-auction Limit Order" or “Stop Loss Order” via DBS mBanking.
3. How shall I know whether my instruction has been received or not?

After you have entered and confirmed your instruction, a reference number will be provided. This only acknowledges the Bank's receipt of your instruction. There is no guarantee that your instruction will be processed or executed in the market. Your instruction may be rejected or not be executed due to fluctuations in stock price, insufficient market liquidity, system delayed/failure or any other event beyond the control of the Bank. You can check the status of your instruction under “Order Status” of “Securities Trading”.

As the initial order remains queuing in the market pending processing notwithstanding subsequent placement of an amendment order or cancellation order, such amendment order or cancellation order may not be transacted or processed. You are advised to check your order status under “Order Status” of “Securities Trading”.
4. What fees, levies, etc. will be charged for trading?

5. How can I check my order status and what is its meaning?
You can check your order status via:
  • DBS mBanking under 'Securities' > 'Order Status'; or
  • Phone Banking Services Hotlines:
    o Manned Customer Service Hotline (852) 2961 2338 for DBS Treasures customers; or
    o Phone Banking Services Hotline (852) 2290 8888 for other customers

The meaning of the order status is summarised below for your easy reference:

Order Status: Pending
Details: Your instruction is received but not yet sent to the market. If your instruction cannot be sent to the market or cannot be accepted by the market after the market opens, the status will be changed to 'Rejected'.

Order Status: Queuing (from 09:00 until the market opens on a trading day)
Details: Your instruction is received but is pending to be sent to the market. The status will be changed to 'Rejected' if your instruction cannot be sent to the market or cannot be accepted by the market after the market opens.

Order Status: Queuing (after the market opens on a trading day)
Details: Your instruction has been sent to the market for queuing. You can check 'Order Status' and register for 'Securities Order Confirmation' to obtain the latest status of your order. For amendment order or cancellation order, your instruction may not be processed in the market.

Order Status: Executed
Details: Order has been executed according to your instruction.

Order Status: Partially Executed
Details: Your order has been executed partially and the unexecuted quantity will be stored in the system for queuing until the market closes. If the order cannot be fully executed by the time of market closes, the unexecuted quantity will be cancelled. The status of such order will then be changed to 'Executed'.

Order Status: Cancelled
Details: Order has been successfully cancelled according to your instruction or automatically cancelled at the day-end when the market closes.

Order Status: Rejected (placing new order)
Details: Your instruction has been rejected. It cannot be sent to the market or cannot be accepted by the market. You can check ‘Order Status and Transaction History’ and register for ‘Securities Order Confirmation’ to obtain the latest status of your order. You can place a new order if you wish.

Order Status: Rejected (amending order/cancelling order)
Details: Your instruction has been rejected. It cannot be sent to the market or cannot be accepted by the market. You can check ‘Order Status and Transaction History’ and register for ‘Securities Order Confirmation’ to obtain the latest status of your order.

6. How can I trade overseas stocks?

DBS Online Trading Platform is a new DBS online platform offered to our customers for trading of equities through their Securities Account under the DBS Private Bank Master Agreement (for DBS Private Bank Clients) / Wealth Management Securities Account under the DBS Treasures Private Client Terms and Conditions (for DBS Treasures Private Clients ) / Wealth Management Securities Account under the Terms and Conditions for Accounts under Wealth Management Investment Portfolio (Wealth Management Accounts) (for DBS Treasures).

You are able to trade in four major markets of Hong Kong, Singapore, United States of America and Canada. You can access the trading platform via DBS iBanking service anytime anywhere to view your portfolio and place trades in any of the four major markets. You can choose the eligible portfolios displayed to be the designated account for your online purchase and sale of equities through the Bank. Equities traded through DBS Online Trading Platform will be treated as part of your assets under management with the Bank.

Time Deposit Opening / Maturity Instruction Change
  • Do I get any advice after opening a time deposit via DBS mBanking?
    Yes. The deposit advice will be sent to you by mail.
     
  • What happens if I did not update the maturity instruction for my time deposit?
    Your Time Deposit will be automatically renewed for the same tenor if no further maturity instruction is received.
     
  • Where can I change the maturity instruction of my time deposit?
    You can change the maturity instruction of your time deposit through the function of "Time Deposit Maturity Instruction Change" under time deposit in DBS mBanking. Change of maturity instruction through DBS mBanking will only be accepted if the instruction is given at least 1 business day before the maturity date. If you would like to change the maturity instruction on the maturity date, please visit any of our branches for further enquiry.
     
  • Can I make an early withdrawal request of my time deposit?
    Early withdrawal of a time deposit is subject to approval of the Bank and payment of interest and other charges as determined by the Bank at its sole discretion.
     
  • How can I change the tenor of my time deposits to be booked by Automatic Fund Flow (AFF)?
    To change the tenor of time deposits to be booked by AFF, please use "AFF High Yield Product Selection" under “Customer Service" in DBS iBanking.
     
My Offers
  • Why is the content of “Promotions” and “My Coupons” different before and after logon?
    Since you have not registered your device, you can only view the general promotions and coupons before logon. You just need to log into DBS mBanking application, go to welcome page > “Settings” and register your current device. You can then view the promotions and coupons that you are eligible for both before and after logon. 
  • How can I redeem my coupons?
    Coupons will be marked as “Used Coupons” after they have been shown once. We suggest you click and show the staff of the merchant your coupon only upon redemption of the coupon to avoid making it void before actually using it.  
Settings
  • What is the purpose of registering my device?
    After the registration of your device, you will receive our push notifications about our Bank’s latest offers including promotions and coupons that are currently available to customers. The highlights of the Bank’s promotions and coupons that are available for you (based on your device registration records) will also be shown in the tab “My offers” even before you log into our application.  
  • Can I register more than one device for this service?
    Yes, you can register more than one device. However, we suggest you register this service on your own device(s) only for security reasons.

    You can retrieve your username / reset your password via DBS mBanking. Please click Forgot "Username" / "Password" on the login page to retrieve username / reset password.

  • My DBS mBanking service is locked after I have entered an incorrect password. What can I do?
    Please click “Forgot Password” to reset your password or visit our branches to reset.
